How to Assess Your Posture:
Forward Head Posture Self-Test
To assess your posture, just follow the steps below:
• First, check the muscles in your neck to see if they’re tight (the upper
trapezius and the sternocleidomastoid) using self-massage.
• Second, check to see if you have a fatty or bony bump on your upper back
just at the base of your neck.
• Lastly, look at yourself from the side. This may require someone taking a
photo of your profile while seated or standing to see how the 3 points from
your ear, shoulder and hips line up. The goal is that these 3 points form a
nice vertical line.
