Hero never dies until he is forgotten
Its the year 2020, and the world is in turmoil. The pandemic has changed the world and our outlook for ever. There are stories of heroes that shall live on but the most of the stories will be forgotten. That’s how our memory works. Out of sight and out of mind. But our tribal heroes are as relevant today as they were centuries ago. The values, the principles and the ideologies they lived and died for are more relevant now then ever. Unfortunately in this new time and age we are so engrossed in our day to day affairs that we are slowly and steadily forgetting them.The memory of these great men is fading away, slipping like sand from in between our fingers and soon our hands will be empty.A wise man once said “If we forget what we did, we won’t know who we are”.The current generation hardly knows about those heroes who spent their youth and life for our welfare. Ask them who Rana Punja was and most may not know. He was the wall that stood between the mighty Mughal empire and Maharana Pratap’s Rajputana. Had he sided with the Mughals, the story of Rajputana would have been totally different. It takes immense courage and conviction to take a stand against the most powerful forces when you have an option to be on their side. We must all ask ourselves. Do we have the courage to take a stand against a mighty adversary as those Rana Punja faced. But the new generation it is not at fault entirely. This new generation is all about instant. The history books have not been kind to our heroes.
