महाराणा प्रताप को वीरता, शौर्य और पराक्रम व जन्मभूमि की आजादी के लिए कष्ट झेलने तथा बलिदान देने के लिए याद किया जाता है।
उस समय अधिकतर राजपूत राजा मुगलों की गुलामी कर रहे थे। परन्तु महारााष्ट्रणा प्रताप जैसे वीर योद्धा की जन्मभूमि की आजादी की लड़ाई में वहां के भील व मीणा आदिवासियों ने जान पर खेलकर अविस्मरणीय साथ दिया था। राणा पूंजा भील जैसे योद्धाओं की वीरता व पराक्रम से हर कोई परिचित हैं।
महाराणा प्रताप को याद करते समय एक दुखद बात यह भी याद आती है कि जो राजपूत राजा उस समय मुगलों की गुलामी कर रहे थे और महाराणा प्रताप के विरुद्ध लड़ रहे थे ऐसे लोगों के वंशजों को आज भी, अपने आप को राष्ट्रवादी मानने वाले लोग, प्रोत्साहित करते हैं और राजनीति तक में सफल बनाते हैं।
लोगों को किसी एक की ही जय बोलनी चाहिए। या तो महाराणा प्रताप व उसके साथी आदिवासियों की और या मुगल व उनकों साथ देने वाले राजवंशों की। व्यक्ति व संस्थाओं को उनकी निति स्पष्ट रखनी चाहिए।
